Disclaimer -or- Why Widespread Non-Compliance Is Your Friend
I'm an audioblogger. Audiobloggers are people who like music, and who want musicians to continue to make music, and who almost universally want record labels to continue to be able to release music. Audiobloggers are people like music enough that they'll give up their free time to do pro bono promotional work for labels and artists, despite the fact that intellectual property law, in its deeply fucked current state, makes this activity illegal. When I provide (illegal) sample tracks, it's in an attempt to drum up curiosity and interest in the bands that have produced them, and I generally provide links to the sites where readers of this blog can purchase the albums from which these tracks are drawn. In a perfect world, labels and artists would interpret these actions as a valuable service, and I know many do. That said, if you have a valid proprietary claim to any track I've made freely available here, you can feel free to use the comments area ask me to take it down. But I'll think you're an idiot forever.
